Downtown Art

Even though the skies were gray, threatening to unleash rain that would destroy their work, artists of all ages descended upon Old State House Square to paint the pavement as part of the United Arts Week.  Artist Tao LaBoissiere drew a huge picture of Hartford, in chalk, and then, armed with paint and brush or roller, the assembled colored it in.  Or at least close.

It was Opening night for Balam Soto's Spirit of the Jaguar show at the Pump House Gallery in Bushnell Park.  Balam's work is somehow suited to the intimate space.  This show is also multi-media and interactive.  Control the show with (as I call it) The Electronic Etch-a-Sketch.  The exhibit will remain until May 26th.
